The Roman Catholic Church vs President Obama

After reading an article on my Catholic fifty+ Web site (EONS) I came across this information: Fr. Jenkins had said an Indiana newspaper “we are very proud and honored to welcome the first African-American President of the United States in a few weeks as our commencement speaker.” President Obama will also be receiving an honorary law degree from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana.

So far over 325,000 petitioners and forty-two bishops have publicly condemned the decision of the university to host and honor what pro-life activists have labeled the most pro-abortion president in history.

I know Obama is intelligent enough not bring up the subject of abortion in a speech at any Catholic educational school.

There is no way everyone will agree with all the President’s views. He has however been chosen as the best man to govern the country in other very important.

Do you not talk to your neighbor because some of their views are different? It is not very Catholic or Christian of you to do that. Remember love thy neighbor—its in the Bible

How many Roman Catholics do you think really follow the church’s rules on birth control? We would have a very populated world if all obeyed this Catholic rule.

There is no way Fr. Jenkins should be ousted for having President Obama give a speech that I am sure will inspire the students.
Abortion should not be a continuous form of birth control but. I think that is too much of a personal decision and no government has the right to interfere with it. Those who blow up abortion clinics and the doctors, now they are the murderers.

I consider myself not a good Catholic by the church’s standard, but a good Christian trying to do basic good things in my life and for others.

Thank goodness I have rid myself of Catholic guilt.

I say it’s good we still have some Catholics like Fr. Jenkins who know Catholics should not judge someone because they don’t agree with you.

Now I need to find a petition to applause Fr. Jenkins for doing what he believes he should do despite the Roman Catholic Church!
