‘Tis Christmas, Ya’ll! You’ve gotta have this yuletide beverage, or it just ain’t a jolly, good ol’ time. Get your cheeks rosey and your mistletoe hung, cause when you drink this brew, you’re gonna be doin’ a lotta kissin’ and having a bunch of fun!

Cinnamon Orange Wassail

1 gallon orange juice

1 gallon hard apple cider

1 quart dark rum (Captain Morgan’s … do it right, ya’ll!)

Six fresh oranges (sliced thick and round)

1 cup light brown sugar

Three cinnamon sticks

2 tablespoons whole cloves

One cheesecloth (for combining cinnamon sticks and cloves, tied with string)

One large ladle

A bunch of hearty mugs

12-quart sauce pot (serve Wassail hot, right from the pot)

Procedure:

1. Tie up cinnamon sticks and whole cloves in cheesecloth, creating a flow-thru spice bag.

2. Combine orange juice, apple cider, orange slices, brown sugar, and spice bag, in sauce pot, bringing it to a boil over medium-high heat.

3. Once boiling for a few minutes, turn off heat and remove spice bag. Add one quart of dark rum, stirrin’ in well.

4. Now ladle yourself up a big, steamin’ mug of Cinnamon Orange Wassail, garnished with a stewed orange slice floater, and sip down some righteous holiday cheer. Merry Christmas, ya’ll! Ho Ho! Happy New Year!
