Easy Caramel Apples

No matter how you say it, caramel apples are a fall favorite that make even the coldest night a bit more cozy. Just follow a few simple steps to help you get the perfect tart treat.

To make these yummy caramel apples, start by removing the stems. Insert a skewer in their place and set the apples aside on a buttered baking sheet. Next, prepare the caramel sauce. Combine a 14 oz package of vanilla caramels into a saucepan. Add in 2 tablespoons of whipping cream and cook over medium low heat, stirring frequently until it’s completely melted. If your mixture gets too thick, reheat until the desired texture is achieved. Now it’s time for dipping! This part needs to be done quickly before the caramel cools and becomes too stiff. Dip each apple into the melted caramel, slowly spinning the apple around to cover it completely. If you’d like to add extra toppings, now is the time. Try chopped nuts, crushed pretzels, or chocolate chips. Don’t be afraid to get creative—M&Ms, shredded coconut, and even mini marshmallows would be great. Place them back on the tray and let them sit until they’re set. Then enjoy!
