My Garden

I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 1999 and as of August 2009 I will be under chemotherapy for ten years. I was a typical gardener at that time. I loved the results but I did not take the time to learn about the plants in my garden. After my diagnosis I developed such a love for gardening, primarily perennials and antique roses. The reason was simple: after I am gone they will go on. I have lost count of the number of plants that I have been fortunate to give away to other gardeners. I may never become a person to instill greatness in others, but the thought that my garden will continue to add beauty to this world after I am gone is awe-inspiring.
