No one should have to make difficult decisions, like "delicious mojito or awesome Otter Pop?" when it's hot outside, especially since frosty desserts and booze almost always go better together. Instead of sweating over the best way to refresh, get a little tipsy and beat the heat with these cool adults-only treats.

  • Hopsicle

If I had the power to award genius prizes, I’d give one to Frank Morales, an executive chef from Virginia, who decided to put beer on a stick and call it a “hopsicle.” It’s not only a clever name, but who doesn’t love an extra-frosty beer on a hot day?! Morales accidentally stumbled upon his creation when he left a bottle of beer in his freezer for three hours and came back to find it frozen solid. Being the genius that he is, he capitalized on his “mistake” and added the boozy-pop to his menu, which features mostly fruity beers that are low in alcohol and minimally hopped. The hopsicle has been embraced by at least one bar in New York that freezes cans of sugar and lime-juice-infused Tecate and saws them open with a serrated steak knife for customers to enjoy.

  • Monkey Business Milkshake

With a hearty ingredient list that includes chocolate ice cream, peanut butter, bananas, and bourbon, this mouthwatering milkshake satisfies enough basic food groups to be classified as my new favorite liquid lunch. Though it was created by the now defunct Town Talk Diner in Minneapolis, you can make it at home by following this simple recipe.

  • Strawberry Peach Vodka Popsicles

Peach season is upon us, and what better way to celebrate than to bring the harvest home, douse it in vodka, and put a stick in it? These pretty peach popsicles are bound to make any BBQ, birthday party, or lazy day around the house better. All you need is a blender, some tonic water, and an appetite for deliciousness. Check out the recipe at Endless Simmer.

  • Frozen Mojito

I realize improving on the majestic mojito is a little like gilding the lily, but if anyone can do it, it’s Bobby Flay. If you want the freshness of a mint mojito but the frothy fun of a blended cocktail, check out his simple recipe and tell me what you think.
