I walked at FIRST with a heavy heart
Searching for my heart’s desire.
In quest for a strength to bind my soul
For a longing meant to be somewhere …
On the same day, was a SECOND step my path to tread along
When in November morning, I sent a smile to you
With an open heart, I plead you’d stay
So I can indulge my morning all beautiful and with glee.
At a glance, I thought for the THIRD time
To pick your heart from the rest.
And summoned my searching self to park
For indeed, I found YOU ready to give the best.
And as long I can remember, By the FOURTH, we were strong at times
While a lot of days, had been challenged
By pitfalls that shakened the bridge and made it sometimes fall
Yet we both held together on.
Then by some chance, we met in time for the FIFTH
The summer breeze brushed away our worries
When you and I have met with joy
And made the memories linger by.
The SIXTH was hard enough to last
At times when you and I would drift apart
Distance can only witness the tears we shed
For both the joys are there for loving and laughter’s best.
On the SEVENTH we planned a beginning
So early as when the sun rises in the east
Crossing the bridge of time and distance
You and I entwined with memories … so lost in space.
At EIGHTH our lives have pledged for what is now and then
To start a life together and strive for tomorrow’s intent
With some promise to see, more sunrises in time
Today and always …
Our time is meant to last with only you and me.
With so much love we shared at NINTH
By picking all the beauty our lives can give each day
Never in our thoughts did we give in to trials
As we both desperately want to stay.
The blessed TENTH wandered for us so true
That love has come in so strong between me and you, to start
A future that holds only to what forever can bring
Because you are here inside my heart, and we treasure
All the things we share.
Let me count the ways ….
But I cannot, when there is much to care about
As we recall same time last year, when I sent you that smile
My life is blessed anew with so much love I can only hold
With the same woman, I have been in love at ELEVENTH
And I will love her again and again and again …
