How to Take a Relationship Break

Sometimes it's best to step back and evaluate things—this is especially true for relationships.

If you're in a relationship where you feel underappreciated and overwhelmed, perhaps you need to step back and assess the situation. You don't necessarily need to end the relationship, but maybe it's best to get some space. By taking this time out, you can avoid any snap decisions that you may regret. This will allow you to evaluate what is really bothering you, and if you decide to work things out, come back with more focus. Just make sure to set expectations for the break—you don't want to end up like Ross and Rachel. (I think we all remember Ross' now infamous line, "We were on a break!")
