A lot of couples think they have to get the one they are with something big, or sparkly, or expensive. That is not true.
One day I was in church, standing next to my boyfriend, and as always he was holding my hand. He looked at me, then smiled, and pulled a small card out of his pocket. He handed it to me, and I looked down at the card. It was a black and white picture with two sleeping puppies on it. I looked back up at him…he was eager for me to read it. I just stared at the picture for a few minutes. I was trying to think why he was giving me a card. It’s not my birthday…we’ve already had our Christmas … what could it be? I thought.
So I opened it up; he had written me a really long note filling up the entire inside of the card. I read it. He was telling me how I was a huge part of his life, and most of all, how much he loves me. I was speechless; literally I couldn’t even get out a whisper. He touched my heart, without touching me. To him, he was just telling me how he felt.
If you want to please your love, don’t think you have to get them something big and shiny, or something really expensive, or something that sparkles, you just have to give them what everybody needs: love. Everyone has different ways of expressing it, find yours.
Love is a flower that is never out of bloom.—Laurabell
