Beautify Your Brows

Stacey Pulwer's picture

When it comes to beauty, I think it’s as important to know what you’re good at as what you’re not. And falling firmly in the “not” category for me is eyebrows. Every time I’ve tried to do anything more extensive to my brows than plucking a few stray hairs, things have gone horribly wrong and I’ve had to stop myself and walk away before the damage got beyond repair. And then I discovered Benefit’s Brow Bars and my life got a whole lot better.

My local Brow Bar, which is located inside their boutique in Santa Monica, actually makes the process fun (well, as fun as something that involves hot melted wax on your face can be!). The technicians are all super-friendly and helpful, there’s never a long wait (even when I’ve just dropped by without an appointment), and they get bonus points for almost always offering to touch up my makeup after I’m done. For the past year, I’ve been buying a package of services on each visit—for $40, I get a brow wax, a brow tint, and an eyelash tint. It’s a great deal, especially considering that I used to pay $38 for just a brow wax alone at my old salon. I’ve had several different technicians work on me at the Santa Monica location, and every one of them has done a great job. They’ve all asked questions about what kind of brow shape I wanted and they did exactly what I asked for—there’ve never been any surprises at the end of my treatments. (I never would’ve gotten either a brow tint or an eyelash tint if they hadn’t talked me into it and I’m so glad that they did. It makes such a noticeable difference on my face AND I get to skip mascara if I want). I always walk out of there feeling much prettier and more put together than I did when I walked in, and let’s be honest, isn’t that the goal for anything beauty-related?

The Brow Bars are located in some of Benefit’s Boutiques, but you can also find them in select ULTAs and other department stores—you can check BenefitCosmetics.comfor a full list of locations.
