Warning: just because your fingernails will look good enough to eat, doesn't mean biting your nails is any less of a bad habit.
For this manicure you will need three colors to make the candy corn, orange, white and yellow. You will also need a piece of wax paper to put the polishes on, a makeup sponge and your favorite base and top coat!
I find when sponging it's always easiest to start with the lightest color first so paint your base white. I used Milani White on the Spot because it's fast drying and pretty opaque in 2 coats. Wait a few minutes for this to dry before moving on to the next.
Now it's time to start the sponging. I did the yellow next since it's at the base of the nail. The yellow I used was Milani Yellow Whiz because it's fast drying and opaque in almost one coat so I wouldn't need to sponge multiple times. It's best to make a small line of polish on the wax paper so it's easier to pick up.
Take the tapered end of the sponge and gently dip it into the line of polish you made on the wax paper. Make sure to dip it a few times to make sure it picks up a decent amount of polish.
Now take the edge you just dipped in the polish and gently dab it onto the lower third of your nail. Now it doesn't have to be perfect but try to make sure the top of the line where the yellow ends is fairly straight so you really are getting the candy corn effect! Do this on all the nails you are making look like candy corn.
Repeat steps 2-4 with an orange polish on the middle third of your nail. I used Milani Jiffy Orange because like the others, it's fast drying and fairly opaque so you shouldn't have to stamp more than once! Make sure where the orange meets the yellow you dab a bit gently so that the colors can blend together a bit.
Ta-da! Wait a few moments for it all to dry, add your favorite top coat and voila! Candy corn nails for a sweet Halloween!
