You know how sometimes you’ll be obsessed with a product and then for some reason, it gets pushed to the back of your closet or the bottom of your makeup drawer and you forget about it? And then one day, you stumble upon it again and remember just how much you loved it and can’t believe you ever stopped using it? That’s happening to me right now with Bliss’s Blood Orange + White Pepper Soapy Suds Body Wash + Bubbling Bath. (I know—the name is so long, it’s almost funny. I just call it Orange and Pepper Body Wash when I’m recommending it to people.)
If you’re like me and want your morning shower gel to wake you up, this is the one for you. It has a fresh, juicy orange scent that never fails to make me happy when I’m using it. The note of white pepper is subtle—I can smell it some days more than others—but it’s definitely there and adds a nice zing to the product. As a shower gel, it lathers up nicely and never fails to make me feel totally clean and energized when I’m rinsing it off. The fragrance lingers on my skin for a few hours after I step out of the shower, but it’s not overpowering. I actually love its scent so much that I usually layer it with the matching Body Butter, which makes it last a lot longer. Besides having the same great scent, the Body Butter is also fantastic. It moisturizes without being greasy, and a little goes a long way, so you don’t have to use half the tube every morning.
Another plus is that the Body Wash used to be kinda pricey, but about a year and a half ago, they lowered the price substantially. Now a 16-ounce bottle costs $18, which is totally reasonable. (The Body Butter is a little more expensive; it’s $28 for 6.7 ounces.) Now that I’ve rediscovered the Body Wash, I kind of can’t believe I ever let it rotate out of my shower the first time, but you can bet I won’t let it happen again!
