My Gift Buying Philosophy

There are some brands that put out one or two holiday products and call it a day, and then there are others that put out so many you can barely even remember them all. I get super-excited every year for Philosophy’s holiday offerings, because there are SO many of them.  Literally—just shelves and shelves of them! It’s like a winter wonderland, only with body scrubs and moisturizers. I swear, every year I say to myself that I’ll only buy one or two things, and then inevitably I end up with far more than that, but it’s always worth it because they’re just so delightful. If you’re looking for a present for any women in your life—friends, relatives, teachers—you can’t go wrong with one of their gift sets. It took me a long time, but I finally narrowed it down to the top three Philosophy holiday products that I can’t live without, so I’ll be stocking up on these to take me into spring.
Candy Cane Shampoo, Shower Gel & Bubble Bath—I’m totally obsessed with this scent right now. It’s a refreshingly minty shower gel with a hint of sugary sweetness to it that makes it stand out from other minty shower products. I love how clean it makes me feel and how great it is in a long, hot shower after working out. Not to cute is the bottle? It looks so festive in your tub or on your sink. I’m rationing it out at the moment just because I have nowhere to store any more bottles, but I’m scared I’ll run out too soon. That’s the mark of a good product!
Much Mistletoeing Lip Shine Set—I have at least five lip glosses in my bag at any given moment, so I can never buy too many. For $20, this set includes four different shades/flavors and they’re all great. My favorite is the sheer red Peppermint Bark, but the sweet taste and sheer pink shimmer of Marshmallows For Toasting runs a close second.  But really, they’re all fantastic and well worth the $5-each price tag. You could even split the set with a friend if you’re not as obsessed with gloss as I am, or buy a set and give a few away as gifts. Just make sure to keep at least one for yourself!
The Gingerbread Man Scented Hot Salt Body Scrub—This spicy ginger scrub reminds me so much of baking Christmas cookies during the holidays. It smells warm and delicious, but it also uses sea salt to exfoliate without being too rough and leaves my skin soft and smooth. And unlike a lot of scrubs, you get a hefty twenty-three ounces for $25, so you won’t run out three days after you buy it.  Using this makes me want to try and fulfill my childhood dream of making a real gingerbread house.  Do I dare?
