Backstage at Nicole Miller, butter LONDON’s global colour ambassador, Katie Jane Hughes, created a “glitterfall” nail look for the designer's New York Fashion Week S/S 2014 collection. The design was actually part of a fan vote campaign held on the Nicole Miller Facebook page. Fans were given the opportunity to choose which of three nail designs they wanted to see walk down the runway in today's show.
Taking her cues from Miller's collection, which was reportedly inspired by the "opulence, glamour and beauty of Versailles—the gardens, mirrors, mazes and chandeliers," Hughes first applied a layer of butter London's new nail lacquer The 444, a champagne-color glitter polish. She created the ombre effect using butter London's The Black Knight nail lacquer, which also has a glittery finish, applying with upward brush strokes from the tip of the nail toward the base. She used a light touch to dab the nail lacquer where the two shades meet to soften the lines and blend the hues. Finally, she applied another layer of The Black Knight at the tips to deepen the hue and finish the ombre effect. I love the sophisticated glittery look!
