New York Fashion Week is in full swing, with lithe models and spring styles floating down the runways. There are also a whole lot of beauty “trends” happening that you’re best to ignore (I’m looking at you, red eye shadow). Blink and you might miss the gorgeous inspiration for the everyday girl—any one of which will make you feel instantly prettier:
The Show: Alexander Wang
Beauty Notes: Ignore the forehead jewelry and note the flawless, luminous skin—perfect but not unattainable with the right makeup. Artist Diane Kendal used Nars Sheer Glow Foundation but you could also mix a little illuminator such as MAC Strobe Cream in with your favorite foundation.
The Show: Erin Fetherston
Beauty Notes: Sometimes nail polish is the only accessory you need. Here, Butter London Lillibet's Jubilee, a lavender-hued silver metallic, mimicked the look of jewelry. Love how the feminine, naturally rounded shape of their nails juxtaposes the edgy, rock-and-roll shade for softer look.
The Show: Marissa Webb
Beauty Notes: Bobbi Brown gave models lightly bronzed cheeks, a subtle smoky eyes and rosy lips with products from her forthcoming spring collection, while hairstylist Michael Angelo created low, back-combed pony tails. The perfect recipe for fresh-faced, all-American beauty.
