Rebecca Taylor, the designer known for dressing the girliest of gals, did not disappoint this season. Just as she said it would be, Taylor's spring 2014 collection for New York Fashion Week was modern, fresh, and beautiful. This year, Taylor added a contemporary spin to the collection by introducing feminine, sport-style streetwear. Although sportswear is mainly a men’s trend, Rebecca worked lace, zippers, and sheer paneling into the designs to increase the flirt factor. Models walked the runway in perforated leather, cutouts, crop tops, and a ton of mesh.
The show was filled with subtle and fresh hues along with the occasional pop of red. She stayed true to her soft floral-print designs, but upgraded them to bloom fresh for the spring 2014 season. Some of her trendiest pieces include color-blocked chambray in dress, pant, and jacket form, soft zebra-print sweatshirts, and chunky cropped sweaters.
Overall, this is a collection in which Taylor paid extremely close attention to detail. Each garment had it’s own bit of personality and an unassuming quality—there was cool factor to each piece. We loved the looks, the ease of wear, and this flirtatious twist on the sporty trend.
