For her spring 2014 collection, African-born designer Sophie Nzinga Sy was inspired by ornate delicacy and the velvet texture of roses. The Sophie Zinga collection was presented at the Hotel London NYC in an intimate setting with a gorgeous Central Park South backdrop at sunset. Her third New York Fashion Week collection included 11 ladylike pieces in the form of cocktail dresses, lace dresses, and a show-stopping one-shoulder jumpsuit. Sophie’s collection was all in a palette of pinks and white with pops of yellow and lavender. Ornate details of the collection included pleats, a deeply draped back, dual-colored, delicate French Alancen lace, and guipure lace. Of all the collections we’ve seen at Fashion Week, the Sophie Zinga collection definitely brought the most flirty, feminine vibe to spring 2014.
