Young Dallas Cowboy quarterback Tony Romo came up victorious over veteran quarterback Bret Favre of the Green Bay Packers, in a very exciting game last night. The Cowboys improve their record to (11-1) and now have their sixth straight win. They will go to the playoffs.
After the game Brett Favre was treated for a hand industry and dislocated shoulder. The Packers dropped to 10-2 and ended a six game winning streak.
If there is any team that might challenge the offensive dominance of the New England Patriots it may be Dallas. The Cowboys have the most wins in a season since going 12-4 in 1995. They are only to wins away from the franchise record. Last night the team displayed vigor, intelligence, and a strong desire to win. With players as talented as Terrell Owens who now has fourteen touchdowns for the season and would prove to be a dangerous challenge to New England or any team.
However the Dallas defense is not without flaws, as Green Bay showed last night. This could pose a problem when confronting a high offense, high scoring team like the Patriots.
Green Bay did not perform poorly in last night’s game. They are still 10-2 and could finish the season strong. There is speculation that the game might have been different without the loss of Favre, who was displaced early due to an injury. However, replacement quarterback Aaron Rodgers, did a great job, confusing the Dallas defense with scrambles and a strong desire to do what it takes to win.
He completed well over half his passes and one contributed to a touchdown. Dallas was leading by only 27-24 in the later part of the game. Greenbay was on a drive but just could not convert their field position into a much needed touchdown.
The Cowboys scored the final touchdown of the game and basically rode out the clock to win. Since Thanksgiving there have been some good games. This was certainly one of them. Not a great game, but a very good one.
This weekend there will be great games such as Seattle Seahawks and the Philadelphia Eagles. However, New England is the team to watch. Tom Brady is the man and I personally think they are on their way to perhaps a Superbowl Dynasty.
