It would be nice if we all had a little Erin Brockovich in us. As I sit here watching Erin Brockovich for the umpteenth time I wonder how nice it would be if we all cared a little bit more.
Every day we all have our own thoughts. How are we going to pay these bills, what time does Jimmy have soccer, am I in this layoff? Why should we waste our time to worry about someone else when we all have our own issues and our own worries?
We can’t always help others with certain situations but being friendly and smiling once in a while is a start. Does it really waste much of one’s time to hold a door open for someone or let them know if they dropped something like a wallet or a personal belonging? Remember when our parents or grandparents drove down the street and they would wave to each passing car? A simple gesture like that can actually make some have a better outlook on their day. When we are having bad days sometimes a simple smile can make a change for us. A smile cost nothing and reports say it’s contagious. How can that be a waste of your time?
Our lives are so fast paced these days. If we all tried to slow down a bit and gave a little more friendliness to each other we may start to see a change in our every day outlook and our attitudes towards each other.
