I’ll introduce myself to everyone. I am a mom to four children ages six, four, two, and eleven months so as you can see I keep busy. I’m quite new to blogging and enjoying it. Blogging is an online journal for me to be able to look back at and see how I’ve grown and how far I’ve come. The last time I really kept a journal was around the age of twenty-two before I got married. At this point in my life, I’m not making as much progress as I’d like, but just waiting for the silver lining.
I am wife to a disabled veteran and I live in Southern Illinois. Not by choice, but for now it seems to be destiny. When my husband was discharged from the Navy, my mom was here, and so I wanted to be near her, but now she’s moved away and my nearest family is at least five hours away. This place is known as little Egypt, and it’s said that you can’t leave here until you learn a lesson in life that you’re needing to learn, so apparently I’ve not learned whatever it is, because I’m still here after four years. Much of my time here has included planning to leave and things just won’t seem to come together for us to leave.
I’m trying to learn to just take life one day at a time. I thought I’d had things figured out before I had children, but I’m learning that that’s a part of life that you can only figure out as time goes along. And not only child rearing, but practically everything in life. Women definitely have done a great job that determine many things and I close with a saying I learned from my mom: A man’s job is from sun to sun but a woman’s work is never done.
