The recession we are currently going through is affecting everyone’s outlook in life, how they decide to face each day in either a positive or negative way. Hopefully my list will help you make it a little brighter.
1. Hug yourself every morning.
This one might seem a bit strange but hugs are the most common and the most essential forms of human affection. While doing this remind yourself, why is it you’re so special; be thankful you’re alive and for the life you have and tell yourself you are about to experience an extraordinary day.
2. Eat a good breakfast.
I have noticed that most people tend to be in a better mood when they are not hungry. A big breakfast gives you energy for the rest of the day, prevents you from feeling the urge to eat chips or donuts while working. I believe having a happy stomach makes us happy. (Who can be happy with a stomach ache?)
3. Wave or say hello to complete strangers.
Spreading kindness is the best way to receive kindness. When saying hello to someone it’s almost impossible not smile. Plus you’re also making those other people’s day and who knows, you might make a couple friends.
4. Listen to music.
Listen to music that you find calming or exciting, it doesn’t really matter as long as you love it. Especially when you exercise, it’s particularly fun because it makes time fly and you don’t think of exercise like a drag, you relate it to something fun.
5. Be grateful.
At the end of each day remember all the great things that happened to you today, be thankful that you got to live another day, you were kind to a perfect stranger, you enjoyed work because you were not hungry, you liked today’s workout, and because you love yourself and what you do.
I sincerely hope it helps anyone who reads it. Thanks for reading.
