Everyone I have ever worked with has the basic desire to increase his or her positive cash flow. Whether they need a strategy to turn their debts around or are already quite successful financially but need a hand budgeting and organizing, everyone I work with is seeking to create abundance in their lives.
In a world economy that is wondering what it got itself into, and how to get out of it, creating abundance may sound a little excessive. It’s not. Abundance is, well, abundantly available. Even in this climate, we can get what we need. We can search and tap our personal and collective resources to create what we don’t have. Just remember this:
Global financial change starts with me …
Yes, you. And me. Your neighbor. Your cousin. My sister. Everyone. Say it out loud to the person next to you. Send it in an email: Global financial change starts with me.
We can’t watch the market recess and expect it to rebound without creating the financial change we want to see in our own homes. The big reveal in the current downturn is that, not only are we all connected by our cash, we are all affected by each other’s use and abuse of it. Creating abundance in your own life is about being the person you want to be, and affecting the collective.
Money is as money does …
If you want to create more money in your life, it’s not just a mantra that’s going to make it show up. It’s the work of stopping in your spending tracks, or quelling the worry of not having enough, and analyzing your economic picture. What do you make? What do you buy? What do you need? What does your community have that you can utilize, rather than purchase? What do you have that you can offer the community?
Once you are fully aware of your personal cash flow and your resources, you know what moves you can take to make your cash flow positive. You know where to contract and where you can expand. When you are anchored in a solid awareness of your budget, you can then activate all of your senses in the direction of what you want to create. Did you get laid off? What are your talents you can draw upon to offer something to the community? Do you want to start a new business? Where can you find mentors who know what you want to learn?
Takes more than a positive attitude …
We are each personally responsible for the financial worlds we create. And we’re never going to live into abundance if the core belief is “I am without,” or “I am in deficit.” Even if you are short on cash and long in debts, if you know where you stand, you know for certain what your capabilities are, and how to employ them to meet your needs and desires.
There is value in the effort if we are all doing our part. Do the work of recognizing where you are on your financial map. And then plot your course to a life you love.
