I was born in Juiz de Fora in 1965. It is a place where I spent good moments with my family. However, there is a special place, its name is Rio Novo, and it is near Juiz de Fora about fifty kilometers. It is a magical spot to me. I have good memories there where I spent simple and fantastic holidays in my life.
I love staying there with my grandma, aunts, uncles and cousins. I felt like a bird and I was very content with them. The house was very big and there was a huge back. There were many kinds of fruit such as: oranges, lemons, mangoes, fruit of the jaboticaba tree (it’s a small black fruit from Brazil), avocados and others. My grandma made delicious sweet preserves for us. Simply, I loved them. And I can still feel the delightful taste in my mouth. Another thing that I enjoyed a lot was at night when she told stories for us. It was very dazzling and I found her stories absorbing me and my cousins.
I can’t forget when I was in the tree house with my cousins. We played, sang, and cooked. It was an extraordinary occasion, and it is a pity that we can’t go back in time. But, I have learnt that we have to make a good use of these moments and feel the precious moments intensely.
I don’t know if I am right, but I know that I am happier now that when I was a teen, I can see the things differently. I give thanks for everything that God gives me and for blessings received.
