When you are insecure, you must seriously think about your problems and find real solutions. It would be better if you would write down your thoughts. When you are afraid of various situations and future complications, you have no courage to face any challenge.
Write down all your fears. Then, write down a list with all the possible problems you’ll have in case everything goes wrong.
Think about the worst possibilities. Face your fears.
Now, think about everything you can do in order to avoid feeling horrible in a certain situation. Think about everything you can do in order to have the best possible results.
For example, let’s suppose that you are afraid to be rejected by someone you like. If you are afraid that he/she may humiliate you when you’ll confess your feelings, look for ways to avoid being humiliated.
What can you do in this case?
Well, you have to approach the person you love in a way that will make him/her certainly conclude that you are smart and admirable (instead of believing that you are silly, and humiliating you).
How can you look smart and self-confident? What can you tell him/her to show your feelings in an interesting way; in a way that will be so nice that he/she will surely admire you for being so smart?
This is a big problem. Knowing its theoretical solution doesn’t mean that you have already solved it.
Look for information in order to educate yourself. Where can you find information about how to become more intelligent and self-confident?
Read many online articles, reports, and e-books. Read blog and forum posts. Participate in various conversations you may find interesting and helpful. Ask questions; expose your point of view. Talk about your fears.
Look for people who can understand you. Ask for their advice. Call your best friends and discuss this matter with them. Research your options carefully, and write down all the solutions you’ll find.
As a result of your extensive research, you’ll find that you certainly collected a lot of information and feel overwhelmed. Therefore, start deleting from your list all the solutions you dislike, or the solutions you feel you won’t be able to put into practice. Study the suggestions that make you feel better. You’ll find something good.
