I am sure that every mother has those moments in life when she wonders what the point of it all is. The dishes, the laundry, the cooking, the drive to work, the taking kids to practices, the dishes, the laundry … you get the point. We spend our days running from one task to another—like robots on autopilot—and then when we get it all done for the day and go into sleep mode (those of us who can sleep), then we have nightmares about all of the things that have to be done the next day. Well, I am not here to tell you that it is ever going to get better, because it isn’t … and that’s a good thing. The stress and craziness of our lives drives us … well crazy, but maybe it’s a good crazy. Would we have it any other way?
I like to say that I thrive on controlled chaos and it’s true, I do. I am happiest when I am busy. I am blessed to have running water to wash dishes. I am blessed to have clothes to wear. I am blessed to have food to cook. I am blessed to have a vehicle that drives me to work and the kids to practices. Yes, my life is stressful, but in a good way and I do have to do it all again tomorrow—and so do you.
