For the last few weeks I have made a new commit to exercising. I mean I am so impressed with this new reason to exercise that I feel I must share it with all of you. I am not a paid spokesperson nor was I given any free products for this post. I am just a busy mom that likes to share what works and is getting me out of bed an hour (shocking)earlier than usual to walk or slightly jog on the treadmill.
What is motivating me? Is it a a special event to attend…unfortunately not. Is it a doctor’s orders, um no. Is it a wonder energy pill, tried them they don’t work. Is it ______fill in the blank with about a hundred reasons why we all should exercise…no it’s not any of them.
It is of all things my DVR (Digital Video Recorder). Yes my DVR is my new reason to exercise. See we recently added DVR in every room, this simple upgrade is what is motivating me to start moving again and allowing me at least a half hour to watch movies. Even more exciting I get to watch movies that I want to see, sorry Elmo your just not doing it for me anymore.
So far I have watched Julie and Julia (so good!), Jennifer’s Body (gruesome but good), Eat, Pray, Love (excellent, although I enjoyed the book more), Mother and child (long but good), and right now I am watching Raising Arizona (new to me).
Talk about motivation: the movie and exercise combo, I never thought they meshed well together but I think I might be onto something here. Before this break through I felt like I never had time for exercise or movies, now I am able to combine the two.
Oh and I have lost two pounds in a month. It might not sound like much, but lets remember I am just walking or jogging slightly and definitely not dieting (I mean I have to be able to hear the movie).
Any movie suggestions to keep me going? Anyone ready to start the movie/exercise combo?
