It’s a new year again, and you know what that means: time to make a few resolutions. But this year, try something different and make a list with your partner . Figure out what you both need to do as a couple to strengthen your relationship . Then, write down your suggestions for each other, and for yourself. Perhaps the most important resolution should be to spend quality time together  and not just on holidays.
It’s hard to find time when you’re busy with work, but with a little creativity you’d be surprised at how easy it can be. For instance, instead of sitting in front of the computer alone or running errands by yourself, invite your other half to work on projects or tasks with you. This is a great way to motivate each other while giving you something productive to do together.
Don’t forget to include communication  on your list of resolutions. For any relationship to be successful and healthy, you must listen to one other. Express your needs to your partner during this time and let them know what you want, whether it’s more honesty or more compliments, now is the time to ask them.
If you run out of unique ideas for your list, you can always fall back on the tried and true, which includes eating healthy, exercising and getting rid of bad habits , such as smoking. Or, in today’s dating world, putting down the phone and texting less while you’re together  may be the ultimate bad habit resolution.
