Fall Colors & More

As the season change from Summer to Fall, the temperature, attire, food choices and or course, “fashions” change too. Being born and primarily raised in the state of Michigan, we knew to count on the leaves changing colors as the Fall season comes in. A drive from the lower peninsula to Upper Peninsula of the “mitt state” during this season almost systematically unveils a myriad of beautiful warn colors for all to see. Ranging from bronze to burnt orange, yellow to red and back again, leaves changing during this season are a memorable event that should be experienced at least once in a lifetime, by all.
Leaves are not the only changes that the fall season brings about, food selections differ as well. Most Summer events are accompanied by luscious sweet, tantalizing watermelons, cantaloupes, cherries, strawberries and a variety of earthy goodness to last all season long and then some. As we move deeper into the fall season, the red & white checkered table clothes disappear as fast as hot dogs & burgers on the grill, accompanied by grilled veggies, or not.
Any “fashionista” can tell you that white is not worn after Labor Day. In fact a local community used that as a slogan for a fundraiser” “Last chance for white pants” A fundraiser held at the end of August, where the attendees wore white pants; or at least something white. Gone are straw hats, bikinis, strapless dresses, seersucker suits, tennis shoes, “oops!” Not so, tennis shoes have taken on an entirely new dimension these days. But hopefully the general idea has made the point here.
No matter what state of the union we live in Fall is here to stay! Time to “fall forward” with the time change is another reflection of the seasonal change. If it has not been done already, gathering extra blankets, purchasing comforters and “snuggly wear” for bedtime, may be yet another good idea to help with this adjustment.
Warm sock, hosiery, foot and outer wear may not be a bad idea either; for both adults and children.
Hat’s, scarves, gloves and mittens, along with lined jackets, coats and outerwear line department stores and boutiques. “And for good reason too”, the weather is rapidly changing to reflect one of four of God’s amazing seasons: “Fall.”
Traveling? Locally: Check with the Convention & Visitors Bureau in your city or the city you’re planning to travel to, for Fall discounts and specials. Overseas: the same may apply here, but also check into the Ministry & Tourism department of the particular country you’re planning the get-away to. The Weather Channel keeps an accurate account of “Fall Foliage” nationwide .and a driving “color guide” too. www.weatherchannel.com
Still not ready to “fall into Fall?” Latch on to a cup of warm Apple Cider and a toasted pastry, to help you ease into the mood.
