Women, never waste an opportunity to tell your government what you want. We have come too far not to understand our voting power. The harsh reality is that theplanners and politicians in Washington want us to choose between jobs and contraceptive. Election 2012 is about jobs. Given the course of action for rebuilding our economy, the perfect plan is to put more people back to work. However, Roe vs. Wade has become the imperfect strategy to rebuild our economy. Many competing forces are aready to dismantle women's rights.
Last summer, an elected official wanted to dismantle a woman's right to choose when and if a violent act occurred. This course of action would establish an unsupportive environment for our daughters, nieces and granddaughters. A woman would not need contraceptive if it weren't for 200 sperms. Attention must be given to these questions. First, is it convenient for a man to discuss Roe vs. Wade? Does he run the risk of 200 sperms reaching his egg? Is it convenient for a man to discuss contraceptive? Does he run the risk of becoming pregnant?
The reversal of Roe vs. Wade would play a primary role in redoubling a woman's childcare responsibilities due to larger families. The reversal would also extend its hand into the workplace and limit or reduce maternity leave. Women, we shoul be concerned. Jobs, as a political theme, is disguising the real issuesfor women. Election 2012 is not just about jobs, It is about a woman's right to be an autonomous decision maker regarding her body and health. Many of us are dissatisfied with the choices facing us: Jobs or contraceptive.
We need a supportive government that will guarantee women both jobs and contraceptive. We shouldn't have to choose one over the other. We do not welcome any alternatives to Roe vs. Wade. Ladies come election day, understand your voting power. Sent our leaders a message. Remember to vote wisely and politely. Thank you.
