Bon Voyage, Boss

It’s a bittersweet day here at DivineCaroline. After more than five years of of making this site a sillier, happier, and more enlightening place to be, our editor in chief, Rebecca Brown, is moving on.
While we’re sad for us to see her go, we’re thrilled about where she’s heading: TO PARIS! To do what you ask? LIVE! That’s right, Rebecca is pursuing a dream so many of us share—to go live in and write in Europe, while indulging in wine, cheese, and men with thick foreign accents.
A proper tribute to such an amazing writer and editor is practically impossible, but we’re happy that the hundreds of stories she wrote while on staff aren’t going anywhere, so future readers will always know where she stands on unacceptable public behavior [1], renting an apartment from a sex offender [2], Brazilian bikini waxes [3], and whether it’s okay to date your cousin [4]. (Spoiler alert: no, it is not.) We’ll miss her wit and wisdom around our weekly meetings when we try to decide whether readers would be more interested in a story about what your dream symbols say about your pet’s dental health or another slideshow of Ryan Gosling pictures. We’ll never forget her outrageous costumes at our annual Halloween walk-offs, how she defended us writers and editors against publicists who didn’t like something we said, or how she was always willing to liven up any meeting with a cocktail or two.
She may not be directing our every meeting, but she is certainly still leading us by example. After all, self-discovery, taking chances, and pursuing dreams is what DivineCaroline is all about. (Well that, and celebrity slideshows and other tomfoolery). We’re immensely proud to say that we have teammates who not only talk the talk, but also walk the walk.
Shanks for the memories [5], Rebecca Brown. Please don’t forget to write!
