Bone Buddies are compressed rawhide sticks you can get at many pet stores. If your dog is a serious chewer, he'll be thrilled with these. My dog, who lives for a good gnaw, can demolish a red Kong in about 90 seconds, but spends days enjoying a Bone Buddy. While we all need to be careful about giving dogs rawhide because of the potential for choking, the compressed rawhide in a Bone Buddy seems to be better than standard rawhide on this score because the dogs only get small pieces of it to break off at a time. The pet store still cautioned me to supervise him when he enjoys his Bone Buddies, just to be on the safe side. But if you have a serious chewer that destroys and swallows pieces of rubber toys, Bone Buddies are worth a look.

The bone buddies are rawhide, and I have reservations about giving my dog rawhide (he's a 90 lb boxer) - I've had to pull soft chunks from his throat, therefore I don't give him any kind of rawhide. I suppose the pressed ones are ok, but I still have reservations. I'm going to stick to biscuits.
