I travel so often you’d think by now I’d have monogrammed Louis Vuitton travel luggage and a charter plane. Not so much. My fake Prada laptop bag is on its last straw and my black Samsonite suitcase looks annoyingly similar to every Jane Doe’s suitcase. So, last week I decided I needed to upgrade. A friend of mine told me about www.kolobags.com, an online store that sells bags specifically made for women. Bingo! The first thing I loved about this no-hassle site was the option to search based on style, color, size of brands. Of course I immediately chose black (it’s winter time in San Francisco), and 7 pages of sexy and quality bags appeared. I was impressed with the wide array of designer laptop bags, specialty bags and technology accessories. I loved the iPod cases but already had 4 sitting in my living room corner, so I kept browsing for laptop bags. My eye caught a black tote with simple pink detailing… http://www.kolobags.com/brands.php?manufacturerid=9&page=2
I’d never heard of the brand Mobile Edge, so I enlarged the image to see how it was made. It looked good, and I remembered that you can’t truly hurt microfiber. But $129 for a day bag? I read the fine print and saw that 10% of sales go to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Perfect -- I can shop and help a good cause! I quickly added it to my cart.
The tote arrived only 3 days later. When I pulled it out of the massive box, it seemed larger than life – plenty of space for my laptop, a few folders, pens, sunglasses, and even an easy access pocket for money and my I.D. I walked around the office with it and two of my colleagues got out of their seats to admire it, feel it and look inside. “Ooh la la,” they said.
Now I’m excited for my business trip next week, and here’s hoping it fits under the airplane seat.
