Brand:Grow-A-Note®
Product:Grow-A-Note Happy Birthday card

Every time I consider throwing away a greeting card someone gave me, I’m filled with guilt and uncertainty, wondering if someday I’ll regret discarding a thoughtful card from a loved one in the name of spring cleaning. With Grow-a-Note cards, the guilt is gone. You’re supposed to get rid of the card, by planting it. The seeds are embedded into the (recycled) cardstock, and you just moisten the card and plant it. Cards come with various greetings—Thank You, Oh Baby, Happy Birthday—with some blank cards. Most have wildflower seeds, but one has catnip seeds and another has sunflower seeds.

Pros: Easy to plant, unique twist on the greeting card, reduces waste.

Cons: Few varieties available, need your own pot and soil, somewhat useless if you actually want to keep the card.
