I’ve been bad to my feet: I’ve perched them on wedges, squished them into tight vintage boots, pinched my toes in peep-toes, and squashed them into pointy-top shoes. I do most of the damage to my feet in Winter so I try to get them a little break in Summer. I usually live in flip-flops for Summer, especially now that they come in so many styles and degrees of dress-up. But there are still occasions where I need to wear shoes and flip-flops are cruelly disqualified. With the heat of Summer, I don’t want to add insult to injury by squashing my swollen hot toe-toes into cruel cool shoes. Last week I found the perfect compromise between style and comfort: Jellies!

Do you remember Jellies? You probably wore them as a kid. Popsicle-color with sparkles and ankle straps, and sometimes even little stick on flowers. You probably had them in every shade of the rainbow and wore them to the sprinklers with shorts or to church with a dress. Sigh, the good old days when plastic shoes ruled.

Well Jellies are back and oh my goodness they never felt or looked so good! Really, these shoes feel sooooooooo good on your abused feet. I just picked up the cutest pair by Rampage – they are a transparent gray plastic with a peep toe and polka dot insole. The soft plastic molds to your feet so they don’t pinch or squish. I wore them with a wide-stripe skirt on Saturday and white Bermuda’s on Sunday – the transparent gray shade means they work with everything. I think I’m going to hunt down a red pair and maybe a blue pair too...

You can find my Rampage Jellies at amazon.com

Urban Outfitters carries a similar style in a bunch of fun colors like red, turquoise blue, field green, white, and black.
