The 45 YGB 2003 Estate Red Wine is among the current releases of Schweiger Vineyards in California. Not as good as the Cabernet Sauvignons they are known for, the 45 YGB is still a decent red wine. I paired it with some dried figs and almonds, which made me get past its meaty nose and enjoy the toasty oak aftertaste.
The 45 YGB was produced to help fund the Tug McGraw Foundation, established to raise money for brain cancer research. A portion of the proceeds from every bottle will go to this foundation, so the retail price of $45.00 per bottle seems like a great way to help a good cause while getting a fine bottle of red wine.
