Children truly are our future. Time and again, I am so impressed by UNICEF.

UNICEF truly cares about the plight of children throughout the world. They focus on early childhood development programs; they work with governments to ensure children get proper nutrition, access to health care, protection against HIV/AIDS; and protection from violence and exploitation. In addition they care about issues of gender equality and education. UNICEF works in countries throughout the world, such as Brazil, Afghanistan, Gambia, Jordan, Mongolia, Maldives, Romania, Rwanda...the list goes on.

Voices of Youth is a section of their site that aims to involve youth in the global discussion through polls, forums, art contests, interactive games, newsletters, and more. It's a great resource and comes in handy in the classroom, too.

There are many ways to get involved: volunteer, donate; you can even buy cars and gifts that directly benefit children around the world.

This is one global organization that I truly trust.
