Calling all fashion kittens—she’s got the feminine frock for you.
It’s safe to say that Rebecca Taylor has got serious staying power. Since showing with Gen Art Fresh Faces way back in 1997, this New-Zealander-cum-New-Yorker could be considered something of a fashion veteran, and she’ s still going strong with a celebrity following that includes Sarah Jessica Parker, Cameron Diaz and Julia Stiles. And it’ s not hard to see why: her feminine frocks are fun, coquettish and sweet without being saccharine. Her attention to detail—whether evident in a flower appliqué, a sparkle, a ruffle, or a bow—is her stamp. Sexy, girly, and Sex and the City-certified, Rebecca Taylor threads are the perfect mate for dinner at the Waverly.
Recently during Fashion Week 2008, at The Salon, young stars ranging from Sophia Bush to Aisha Tyler filled the front row in support of their favorite designer. The floaty dresses and separates for fall pulled from a dark palette of blues, purples and blacks, and placed an emphasis on prints—of the floral and animal variety. Pant were wide legged, waists were nipped with skinny belts and subtle embellishments, like crystals at the neckline, kept the classic pieces feeling fresh and new.
