If you’re looking for a guaranteed beautiful, laid-back Hawaiian vacation with top notch accommodations and service, I suggest The Fairmont Orchid north of Kona on the Big Island. The pool was never too crowded or loud, the property was huge, and activity passes provided forty-three options for sports equipment, classes, and beach activities. Although there were many families vacationing on the property, I was able to have the relaxed romantic vacation I’d longed for.
Our room was on the Gold floor, which gave us access to the concierge lounge with a full bar, hot breakfast every morning, and views of the property’s waterfalls. The bedroom was spacious, cleaned twice a day, and featured a balcony that I relaxed on every night during sunset. My favorite part of the hotel was the sizzling hot tub hidden among the hibiscus and fruit trees.
