Thinking about business travel can cloud the mind and dull the senses, but there is a sunny lining to even the most intense business trip in Las Vegas.
When exiting the plane in Vegas, I was dying for a little bit of rest. Just a little. Give me five minutes, please! Reservations were made in advance and I was on my way to the Suncoast Hotel & Casino. Still, at this point, exhaustion and jet lag had me willing to settle for the Roach Motel.
As the car pulled in front of the Suncoast, I was not only amazingly pleased, but was also impressed with the smiles and warm greeting from the valet service. Of course, it is the job of the valet to be courteous, but it was obvious these guys go beyond the traditional. There is actual conversation. The kindness is genuine—not merely an attempt at a higher tip.
When entering the Casino floor, I was met by a bellman that not only took my bags but also adorned a genuine smile similar to that of the valet. The check-in clerk made me feel so welcome that I almost forgot how tired I was. In what seemed like less than five minutes, I had been parked, had my bags unloaded, and was checked in and ready to lie down.
My room was located on the eighth floor. I was prepared for a nice room with the many amenities offered through the hotel service, but now way was I prepared for the room I saw when opening the double doors.
The décor was of the most exquisite taste. Ceramic tile flooring in earthen toned colors led left and right. To the left was a beautiful master bedroom and large master bath. The bath’s far wall, comprised of crystal clear windows, afforded a full scenic view of the greenest golf course I’d ever seen. To the right was the dining room, living room, office area, kitchen, another master bedroom and master bath. As if this weren’t enough, there was a flat screen LCD television in every room and a nice 25 inch television in the kitchen. I can’t say that I used the phone in the bath, but its presence was an added touch.
