As much as I like to think of myself as a spontaneous and adventurous person, in truth, I'm quite conservative and monotonous in taste and practice. For instance, when I like a song, I'll play it like a broken record until I can't stand it anymore. Or, if I like a particular dish at some restaurant, I'll order it again and again, despite the presence of other equally delicious items on the menu. But, despite my rigid tastes, I find it quite exhilirating to be stirred by new musical genres or to stumble into a new restaurant with very different but ever so yummy dishes. You may be wondering what all this has to do with shoes...
Most of the shoes that I've purchased lately have a dominant feature: a spacious toebox. So, when I was asked to review Asgi Shoes a few weeks ago, I felt a little hesitant only because of the slender silouette of the shoes. After all, most of the styles tapered off at the tip. I thought, they're adorable, but how could I ever get my wide feet to fit into those? But, what the heck, I thought, give it a try.
I tell ya what, though the Joy Mary Jane has a pretty sleek and narrow silhouette, my experience wearing it was akin to my experiences eating sushi for the first time or spinach curry at the Indian restaurant down the street. Though I was hesitant initially, both dishes proved to be favorites of mine. Same with Asgi's Joy: my, it's like butter for my feet -- does that make sense? It felt really good to wear.
The day I received that impressive package, I took Taco and Chico out for an hour walk. I wore the Joy Mary Jane without socks and my feet arrived home in the same condition as when I left: comfy and quite happy. I also wore the pair to Half Moon Bay last Saturday. We walked and shopped up and down Main Street in Half Moon Bay the entire morning and my feet were, pun intended: Joyful. A culmination of many years of research and development, Asgi's patent-pending Soleplex technology truly delivered.
