Brand:Diva International
Product:menstrual product

The Diva Cup has changed the way I feel about my period. For the first time in 30 years, I didn't mind that week.

The Diva Cup is a reusable, latex free, hypoallergenic silicone cup that collects mentrual fluid. Easy to insert and unbelieveably comfortable, it can be worn for up to 12 hours at a time. Remove, empty, rinse and reinsert only twice a day. What freedom! I wondered about the gross factor at first, but this thing is so easy and so clean feeling that I will never go back to the old ways. It comes in two sizes; one for younger women who have not given birth and another for older women or ones who have given birth. I am in my 40's and have 3 children and used the Diva Cup without a leak or bit of worry.

No more expense or mess of tampons or pads. No more contribution to the landfill. No more "period panties"; you know the ones, the oldest, already stained undies you save for the week of the month. No excusing yourself to the ladies room when you feel that "uh oh".

The Diva Cup comes in a little drawstring bag so you can take it with you wherever you go and never have to worry about being unprepared.

I have been using the Diva Cup for a year now and I will NEVER go back. There was an "adjustment period" while I got the hang of it. And she is right--no leaks unless you flow really, really heavy(I can sense when it gets full) then you might need to empty it 3-4 times a day on your heaviest day. I have also had less cramping because my vagina and cervix are not being constantly irritated by a tampon. It has already paid for itself several times over in what I would have spent on tampons. Tell all the women and girls in your life about this product because it should be on the shelf right next to the pads but it's not--the feminine product industry would lose too much money!

This is the first I have heard of this. I hated the pads, and had an accident with the tampons ( forgot I had one in and inserted another). Since I no longer have this monthly present I will share this break through information with my daughter -in-law and granddaughter.

I had been so excited to try this product. The concept was really appealing. Problem: It didn't work for me. I guess some women find this easy to insert and comfortable, but I had an awful time getting it positioned (and I'm not squeamish). It reminded me of the prehistoric diaphragm days (did I get it in just right? What are the consequences if I didn't?). In this case, leaks, major ones. And a word of warning: Trimming fingernails is advisable before inserting! I gave up after a couple of months. :-(

I have never heard of this before...very interesting. I do not like wearing tampons either and this may be something I will try. It seems it could be messy, but I will check out the webpage and read more about this. Thanks for sharing with us Claudia, blessings!

Response to last few comments: I usually use a panty liner with tampons, but didn't need them with the Diva Cup. I vaguely recall the Tassaway too, and even more recently, a few years ago, my daughter's friend was using a similar product from Canada, but still disposable. One of the things I like best about the Diva Cup is that it is reusable!
