I thought I would share my all time favorite book with everyone. I feel that everyone in their life time should at least read "To Kill A Mockingbird" once in their life.  I know now alot of schools require children to read this book in high school.  But I was fortunate to stubble upon this book in sixth grade at my private school.  I promise the book will not let you down.

The novel takes place in the south during the times of segregation.  The main character Scout and Gem live with their father, who is a lawyer, and the house maid, who ironically happens to be african american.  Scout and Gem are like any other children during their time and enjoy adventures that teach them about the life that surrounds them.  A major concern for these children is their mysterious neighbor Boo Radley.  Times take a turn for the worse when their father is appointed by the town's court to defend a plaintiff who is an african american that has been convicted of a crime. While, I will not get into the details of the book any furthur to save it for your reading.   I would like to stress that the novel teaches anyone who reads it very valuble life lessons about racisicm, standing up for what you believe it, and that things are not always what they seem to be.  I will carry this novel's life lessons on my shoulder for the rest of my life.  And every now and then I always pick it up despite knowing exactly how it will end.
