This year we see lashes go bold, and lids go neutral, as fall sets in. Warm pink and nude tones compliment earthy-colored eyes. You can also forget the shadow; thicken up your lashes, use thin lines of eyeliner, and bring the focus to your lips with a deep wine-colored lipstick. There is also an emphasis (but not too big) on the brows and cheeks. Make your brows stand out by coloring them in (unless you have very dark eyebrows already), and give your cheeks a pretty flushed color.
These are my 5 picks for fall:
1. Anastasia Eyebrow Powder $22.00 and up
Remember the eyebrow wands; mascara for brows that made them stiff and the product flaked? You don't have to worry about that anymore. Anastasia's eyebrow powder is long-lasting and looks natural when on. For people who have thicker and/or darker brows, I don't recommend that you fill them in, unless necessary. They end up looking fake, too thick, and can be very distracting. Apply the powder using a brush, such as her mini duo 7 Angled/Spooled brush, but any smaller angle brush should be fine. If you want to reshape your brows, I recommend the All About Brows Kit ($75.00 at Sephora & Sephora.com) because it comes with everything for you to create your own unique brow. There are several shades to from, from ash blonde to brunette.
2. IMAN Luxury Moisturizing Lipstick ~$9.00 and up
Iman's beauty collection is geared more for dark skin tones, but the lipstick line has enough variance for everyone. There are great plum and wine tones, perfect for the days when you don't want to apply too much makeup. You can sheer down any of the colors, the best way to get the color you want is to use a lip brush (such as billy b's retractable lip brush). It will make your lipstick go further too. You can also mix colors, or add your favorite gloss to give it a custom look.
**I recently heard that Iman Beauty will no longer be in business, but I know that several stores still carry her line (Target, Walgreens, CVS, Frends, etc); I'm not sure how much longer though.
