Well, here I go, yet once again. I’ll be telling you in detail (without getting gross about it) my day of preparation for Test Two, Day Two: Barium Enema. It doesn’t sound like much fun to me, how about you?
Eventually, everyone for one reason or another has to have one, so I don’t think I’m talking out of turn about it. While I won’t describe the procedure (I’ll leave that to your imagination), I wanted to let you know what prepping for it was like for me, sans grossness ... I was able to eat a light breakfast this morning, although, had I gone with my original plan (some granola, yogurt, and sunflower kernels) instead of sausage and egg biscuit, this afternoon might have gone better for me.
I started drinking liquids after breakfast, ate lots of ice, and at 12:30 p.m. promptly drank the Phospho soda as per the directions for tomorrow’s procedure. Well, you know what happened next. What I didn’t expect to have happen was tossing my cookies—and you can guess what came back up. Ugh. Thank goodness the sink is located right next to (and I mean right next to) the toilet. I continued with my liquid diet which mostly consists of bouillon (beef flavored), plain Jell-o, ice, tea, and (gag) plain water.
While I love the fact that I could quite possibly be losing some weight, this is not the best way to go about it and is something I do not plan on doing anytime soon, I promise! There is no way I would do this to myself purposely. Ick ... no thank you!
Now, here I am at the end of my evening and I am ready to go to bed, but I’m not going to just yet. One more cup of bouillon and then I’ll head to bed.
Until next time.
