Do You Feel Stuck in a Rut?

Yet do you also feel capable of achieving so much more?

As if your life has the potential to be vastly different and better—but only after you figure out the cause behind your current state of “stuck-ness”.

Trust me, I’ve been there.

More than anything, I understand what it’s like to want, need and crave forward movement toward that bigger vision for your life.

To desire change so desperately, yet simultaneously be in that “stuck space”. Where no matter what you do, it never seems to shift your life towards actualizing your goals or dreams.

Then when nothing changes, you feel frustrated—and, at times, you feel hopeless too.

It’s so easy to get caught up in the problem, that you miss the solution.

Which is why I created the following list of four (likely) reasons your ability to make change and experience greater success feels stifled—as well as what you can do to shift it beginning today:

Stuck reason #1 – You need to let go of something.

Deep down inside, you already know what this “something” is…a job, a relationship, an identity…the list is endless. As are the lengths you’ll go to in order to avoid admitting what you’ve outgrown or what is no longer working for you.

However, when you remember there is a process to letting go, you’ll be able to navigate it more successfully. This process begins with acknowledging what you need to release and then accepting the fact you will do so when you are ready—and not a moment sooner.

The good news, though, is once you do finally let go…you’ll step into that new and better life.

Stuck reason #2 – You simply don’t know how to live differently.

In addition, it’s not easy to let go of your old way of doing things and, instead, step into a new and, perhaps unfamiliar, way of living. But the truth is, what you “know” is creating the results you have now yet no longer desire.

How, then, do you learn what you don’t know but need to know in order to move forward?

You find a mentor or teacher who has already traveled the path you wish to follow. Let them show you how to reach your bigger goals–and light your pathway out of “stuck-ness” into greatness.

Stuck reason #3 – You believe your tribe is holding you back.

Your relationships are mirrors of the thoughts you hold about yourself and vice versa. Change of any kind alters the reflection for both people—shining a, perhaps unwelcome, light on what’s not working in their lives too.

As such, your tribe may not support your desire for change because they are not ready to “see” the changes needed in their own lives.

Yet remaining stuck serves no one. The greatest gift we can give another is to live our fullest potential. By doing so, we acknowledge their ability to do likewise. Whether they choose to accept that gift, however, is up to them.

Stuck reason #4 – You’re pursuing an expectation or “should” rather than your actual dream.

It takes courage to be honest with yourself about what you really want for your life. This is especially true when you’ve tied your self-esteem, validation or lovability to living up to others’ expectations.

Yet the only way you’ll ever move beyond the stuck factor and into success is to own your dreams—and then pursue them. Which, if you stop and really think about it, is ultimately what you want anyway!

So why not just go for it…beginning today?
