I decided to attend my first revival with friends one cool fall night. I was having some mental problems and they were sure that Brother Ron could help me.
The church was full of people as we entered the building. My friends greeted Brother Ron and introduced me as “one who needed prayer.” He had a big smile on his face. The first thing he said to me was, “Do you know your sins are forgiven?”
The message he preached under the anointing of the Holy Spirit touched my heart in a special way. Once he was done preaching, he started praying for people in the congregation. I had been to church before but I had never seen any of the pastors lay hands on the people when they prayed for them. I felt a presence when he laid hands on me; later I learned it was the presence of the Holy Spirit.
I was one of the first people he called out to come to the front so he could pray for them. Brother Ron was anointed to cast out demons just like Peter and Paul were in the Bible. He cast the demons out of my life in Jesus’ name that had been tormenting me. He had the whole church praying for me. People tend to want to ignore or deny that demons exist and are very real today. Just as they had to leave the people in the Bible, they had to leave me alone. I was freed from their troubling my mind. I felt like a new person after he finished praying for me. I was free and smiling for the first time in a long time.
Brother Ron lived in Batesville and I lived in Mountain Home so I didn’t get to go to his meetings very often. He was friends with my pastor and on different occasions, he would attend our church. He would always participate in the praise and worship service. You could see the love of God and feel God’s presence every time he was around.
By 2006, Pastor Lunday had quit pastoring our church. One day I was going out of Wal-Mart and ran into Brother Ron as he was coming into the store. He gave me a big hug and asked me how I was doing. I was dealing with some new issues that made me feel nervous and anxious on the inside. By then he was pastoring a little church in Gassville, AR that was very close to where I lived. He suggested I come to the Thursday night service. I promised him I would try to get there.
The praise and worship service was alive and the message was delivered straight from the Holy Spirit that lived in him. Once again, he laid hands on me and prayed for me. It was just what I needed … Miracles, healings, and people gave their lives to God in every service.
Soon I made True Connection Ministry my home church and I went on a regular basis. Brother Ron and Sister Kimberly, his beautiful little wife, have a wonderful ministry that is totally and completely led by the Holy Spirit. They have been there for me when I need prayer, or counseling in their home, or just need them to spend time with me and talk me through my problems on the phone. They keep me covered in prayer on a daily basis.
I find it difficult to find words to express how grateful I am that God has allowed me to be under their pastorship. Evangelists come and go but pastors are there with you in the good and bad times. They have brought me into a greater understanding of God’s Holy Word through the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Their teaching God’s Word to me has birthed in my heart what I need to meet any challenge that comes my way. I have a closer relationship with the Lord because they have taught me how to experience His presence for myself.
I not only have a church home, but I have been given a loving church family. It brings me lots of comfort to know I’m where God wants me to be. My heart carries up a prayer of thankfulness to a loving God that so graciously placed them in my life. They’ve made a difference in my life and taught me how to yield to the leading of the Holy Spirit so that now I can make a difference in other people’s lives. That’s what it’s all about—touching others for Christ.
