Honoring Yourself

Today I'm grateful for honoring my signature. A person's signature is not only 2 written words, but also the way he or she interacts with others, the respect of lack of it they shows towards other people and living things, the spoken words, the way he presents himself, and all of his being in the context of the whole world. A person's signature comes from his character, which is like a rough diamond that needs to be polished every day to become a priceless gem. That grinding process is not easy or even pleasant, for it smooths the rough edges that you've become so comfortable with. Those are different for every person, for some it can be being confrontational, rude, disrespectful, while for others blaming, not taking responsibility, or laziness. If you character has not been polished in a day, and you're the same in the evening as you were this morning, your day was not used to the fullest of its potential. Why the constant need to be polished? So we can better ourselves, better those around us, and better the world. Well, how about if we settle and opt out of the grinding, no harm done, right? Wrong. The only way to see yourself as faultless and perfect already, is to see all others as less than you. So instead of honoring others, you'll describe them as stupid, dumb, and worthless. You might be thinking that you don't do that.. let me rephrase then: when was the last time you rolled your eyes at someone? Same thing! Remember though that by doing so, it speaks more about your own character than about who they are… I wish that today you'll find new ways to honor your signature.. keep on grinding and polishing! ~~Angela
