Have you ever looked around at other people and really think about who they are?
Like your boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend is a cheerleader. She is so stuck up. But what is she like behind closed doors? She used to be so insecure about herself, she threw up. This girl is beautiful, and thin, and in shape. Why exactly would someone so beautiful, feel so ugly?
And your friend, who is looked at as just a stoner that gets drunk all the time, really is a nice guy who can hold an intelligent conversation and has a life at home like mine. He has a strict father and his parents are divorced. Like me. He has feelings and a job. Who woulda thought.
Everyone has a life you don’t know about. Some people come home to an empty house, some people come home to their clothes thrown out all over the floor and no money for lunch, some people come home to everything they’ve always wanted.
And deep down, they have feelings. But when you’re walking down the street and you look at someone, the first thing that comes to your mind is something judgmental. It doesn’t even cross your mind that they’re feeling something just like you are. It’s not something you often think about. But maybe next time you look at someone, think about their expression and why it might be the way it is. Don’t be too quick to judge. Look in the mirror.
