Tips to Keep Your Weight Loss Resolution

It isn’t the first time, and it certainly isn’t going to be the last, so don’t be so hard on yourself! Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and get back to your game plan. We all have setbacks, but it’s what happens after those setbacks that matter. In a recent interview with Jillian Michaels, she said, “If you want to lose weight, there are no gimmicks out there that work other than good old-fashioned hard work and commitment.”
1. Set your goals. Make them specific, doable, and achievable on a daily basis. Most people know what foods are healthy. Write these foods down and use them for meal planning and in-between snacks. Make specific plans for physical activity: how much, what time of day, and more importantly, the type of exercise you can include into your daily routine.

2. Encourage your friends and family to participate. Being the only one having to watch your diet and exercise can be a lonely challenge. Supporting each other to lose weight and get fit makes the journey enjoyable.

3. Keep a detailed food and exercise journal. Record everything you eat and do. This allows you to see the habits you’ve created for yourself.  It’s one of the most under-utilized techniques in losing weight.
