A sleek, lightweight jacket is essential for fall and winter riding, which is exactly what the new Enerblock Women's Jacket delive...rs. Louis Garneau designed this jacket with panels of element-blocking fabrics so that you remain comfortable and protected from the weather while spinning away on your favorite rides. Louis Garneau constructed this jacket using its EnerBlock fabric. This material is a three-ply stretch knit that features a polyurethane membrane and a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish. Accordingly, your freedom of movement is ensured, as well as a solid protection from both the wind and water. Layered with the EnerBlock is Garneau's HeatMaxx material. This is an opaque Roubaix-type material with a smooth outer-surface and a brushed microfleece lining. This stretchy fabric strikes a fine balance between keeping you warm and not restricting movement with any bulky materials. In fact, this fabric's composition works to keep your core warm, while at the same time, it ensures that you stay dry through its exceptional wicking capabilities. The jacket was cut with an anatomic shape, and it features a more race-oriented fit. Additionally, Garneau has included a full-length, two-way zipper in order to provide ventilation at the top and bottom of the jacket. The zipper is backed by an inner-flap that stops wind from penetrating, and there's also a zipper garage at the collar. All the seams were flatlock stitched in order to eliminate friction and to create a closer fit to the body. Lastly, stretchable cuffs were employed, which allows for flexibility and movement at the wrists. You'll also find that the jacket has plenty of storage for winter accessories -- three angled back pockets, two front pockets, a zippered sleeve pocket, and a media pocket with a port for your headphones. The jacket was finished with reflective front and back accents for increased visibility to motorists in low-light conditions. The Louis Garneau Enerblock Women's Jacket is availa... read more

With a slightly looser paneling design than standard cycling tights, the Louis Garneau Element Women's Tights were created to be t...he perfect lower-body barrier for exercising in cool- and cold-weather conditions. This makes them ideal for running, skiing, and as a mid-weight layering piece. The Element tights were made with two of Garneau's signature fabrics. For the majority of the paneling, a material known as Vertexx was employed. This fabric features a smooth outer-surface and a brushed back lining. This stretchy fabric strikes a fine balance between keeping you warm and not restricting movement with bulky fabrics. Vertexx's composition works to keep your legs warm, while at the same time, ensuring that you stay dry through its exceptional wicking capabilities. For the front panels, and the backs of the legs, Garneau strategically placed its Light WindDry 2 material, as these zones take the brunt of the wind, rain, and snow during your late-season workouts. This two-ply material is made from a micro perforated polyurethane membrane, which both wicks moisture and provides waterproof and windproof protection against the elements. Rounding out the tights, Garneau included nine-inch ankle zips for easy removal, and a generous amount of reflective logos and piping were added to the paneling to keep you seen by motorists in low-light conditions. An elastic waist with drawstring secures the fit up top, and articulated knees provide and full-range of motion. The Louis Garneau Element Women's Tights are available in the color Black and in five sizes from Small to XX-Large. Please note that these tights do not feature a chamois. read more

In the drudgery of winter, there comes a point where we can no longer stand idly by while the sun is shining. Even if it's 38 degr...ees, the road calls, and we answer. Where you were once afraid of the frigid temperatures, the Louis Garneau Geminix Jacket 2 gives you a vote of confidence that's been missing since early fall. With its cycling-specific, multi-panel design and weather fighting fabrics, the Geminix Jacket 2 is like a port in the storm that provides you with warmth in the saddle all winter long. Louis Garneau's Geminix Jacket 2 uses a multi-panel design made from a blend of Garneau's Sismik and Vertexx fabrics. The exterior of the jacket is constructed from the Sismik material-- a three-ply knit consisting of a water/wind-repellant membrane, a slick, abrasion-resistant face, and a textured mesh back. The three knits form a lightweight, comfortable layer that breathes as well as it resists the elements. The inner lining is made from the fleecy brushed-back knit of Vertexx. This soft lining helps to improve body heat retention, and works with the Sismik layer for a comfortable insulation that wicks moisture to the jacket's surface for evaporation. The Geminix features a pro-fit design that's enhanced by elastic grippers at the wrists and a signature gripper at the bottom hem. The jacket also uses a cycling-specific collar that greets the full-length zip with an inner flap and zipper garage. For storage, the Geminix 2 has a zippered chest pocket, three rear pockets, and 'motivation pocket' for your MP3/multimedia device. The Louis Garneau Geminix Jacket 2 is available in sizes X-Small through XX-Large, and in the colors Black/white, Ginger, and White/black. read more

Take a race jersey out on a hot summer day. Now tear off all the stuff that you wish wasn't there. What you have left is the absol...ute bare essentials, and it's called the Louis Garneau Women's Sirocco Tank Top. This isn't a cheap, no-features jersey, it's exactly what you need to perform your best in the heat of summer. The Sirocco is, except for the back pocket and inner bra, made up entirely of Lite Skin Sens fabric, which looks and feels like cotton, but maintains the moisture-wicking and breathability properties of polyester. Lite Skin Sens boasts an impressive UPF rating of 50 to protect you from the sun's harmful UV rays. It's also stretchy, so you won't feel that unpleasant binding sensation that you get when you reach a non-stretch fabric's limit. More importantly, you also won't hear the unpleasant tearing sound that your get when that same non-stretch material lets go at the seams. The inner bra and back pocket are made of a highly breathable open mesh that also pulls moisture away from your skin to keep you dry and comfortable. In terms of fit, Garneau designed the Sirocco with what Garneau calls its ProFit. So, as its name suggests, the jersey is intended for those who are spending an equal time in the drops as they are at their desk job. However, there's more to this fit than just good intentions. In fact, Garneau has cut the jersey on an anatomic curve that's specific to the female body in both the position and movements of cycling. Ultimately, this equates to a drastic reduction in fabric bunching and abrasion whether you're down in the drops or over the hoods. The mesh rear pocket takes care of all your storage needs, while a media pocket with a cord port allows your headphone cord to be run inside your jersey to avoid snags while you ride. Garneau finished off the Sirocco with reflective elements that make you more visible to traffic when you're caught out on your bike after dusk. The Louis Garneau Women's Sirocco Tank top is available in six si... read more

When arm warmers and a vest just won't cut it, the next level of on-the-bike protection usually comes in the form of a lightweight..., breathable shell. This is where Louis Garneau's Electra Women's Jacket jumps into action, as its versatile design keeps your upper body protected and shielded from the elements. So, you'll remain comfortable and focused on the road ahead. The Electra jacket was constructed using several of Garneau's technically advanced fabrics. For the outer-layer, Garneau applied its Diamond Air material, as this fabric is exceptionally lightweight, breathable, and wind-breaking. Beneath this layer is a Mesh Airdry lining, which is a thin, semi-perforated fabric that works to pull moisture away from your additional layers underneath the jacket. The back of the Electra received panels of Garneau's Micromesh to further its overall breathability and to prevent overheating. Additionally, the jacket was built with detachable sleeves, so that you can easily convert it into a vest. Garneau built the jacket with its women's-specific ProFit, which closely follows the contours of your body while in the cycling position and accounts for additional layers worn underneath. Elastic at the wrists and an elasticized drawstring at the waist secure this fit. For the details of the Electra, Garneau added its front two-way zipper for maximum top and bottom ventilation. This zipper was built with an inner-flap in order to reduce drafts, as well as a zipper garage that prevents neck irritation. Two zippered pockets -- one chest and one rear -- seal your valuables from the elements, with an additional multimedia pocket allowing you to channel your headphone wires through the inside of the jacket. Garneau also had a hunch that you would be riding in low-light conditions, which is why it added reflective piping at the front and rear. Garneau also added a mini-light tab that allows you to easily attach a small light to the exterior of the shell. The Louis Garneau Electr... read more

The Louis Garneau Comp Shorts are built specifically to cater to the needs of the budding triathlete. From your first training ses...sion in the pool, through your first race, they'll be there every step and stroke of the way. And that means you can focus on getting across the finish line as quickly as possible. Garneau constructed the Comp shorts from its Endurexx fabric with Lycra X-Life. To ensure that you can train all season, indoors and out, it's chlorine-resistant. Lesser materials can deteriorate when faced with regular in-pool use, but with the Comp shorts, you can train in the same pair you race in, so you feel comfortable when the big day comes. The X-Life Lycra means that it resists stretching and blowouts, further enhancing the life of the shorts. After all, if you're new to triathlons, the last thing you want to do is throw money away on a pair of shorts with a limited lifespan, and with the Comp shorts, that won't be an issue. Additionally, Garneau's PowerBand compressive leg cuffs help to rein in muscle vibration in your upper legs. This reduces the damaging effects of road vibrations, keeping you feeling fresher, for longer. To ensure your comfort over the long haul, Garneau employed a quick-drying fleece chamois. It's low profile, so as to not interfere with your body's movements during the swim and run portions of the event, but it still provides ample padding to keep you protected for your ride. As you'd expect, it's quick drying, which helps to fight chafing as you transition onto the bike. The Louis Garneau Comp Shorts are available in five sizes, from Small to XX-Large, and in the colors White/black/red and Fluo Green. read more

Anatomic comfort is nothing new to Louis Garneau. After all, it's been at the forefront of cycling design for nearly 30 years. So,... when it came time to design a the Course Race Women's Shorts, Garneau decided to poke the boundaries of possibility. Instead of simply making a comfortable pair of shorts, Garneau instead opted to incorporate high levels of aerodynamic and breathable properties that are typically sacrificed in the pursuit of comfort. Starting with the shorts portion of the Course Race, Garneau used its Lazer Rev fabric for the construction. This material features a knit that has a high percentage of Lycra fibers in its composition. This means that you'll experience more muscle support in comparison to heavy polyester blends. Why is this important? Well, more support translates to less muscle movement from road vibration, and thus, less muscle fatigue. Additionally, even though the Course Race isn't a designated compression piece, you can still expect a slight improvement to blood flow, correlating directly to a reduction of lactic acid buildup. Even better, Lazer Rev has been designed to retain its shape after expanding for body conformity. So, the fabric's shape, fit, and compressive qualities don't run the risk of degradation. And to keep the heat at bay, Garneau also treated the shorts with its Coldblack finish. This finish permits the sun's heat to be reflected away from the shorts instead of absorbing it like most fabrics. So, you can ride on the rivet during summer races without running the risk of overheating. So, you might be asking where aerodynamics come into the fold? Well, this a two part story, with Chapter One being the materials, and Chapter Two involving the construction. Moving along these lines, Garneau designed the Course Race shorts with a minimal number of seams. Not only does this minimize the possibility of abrasion, but it also creates a smooth, laminar air flow over the legs. So, you'll notice that the inner leg features a s... read more

Garneau's Elite Power Team Shorts were designed to provide the ultimate combination of support and all-day riding comfort. It's no... surprise, then, that Backcountry Bike Team athletes rely on the Elites for all of their races and training rides. Starting with the basic construction, Garneau made the shorts from a well-positioned blend of Lycra Power, Lycra Pro, and Power Mesh. For compressive support, Lycra Power has been placed at various points on the legs of the shorts. Basically, this fabric features more Lycra fibers per ounce/square yard than typical Lycra compositions. So, the material experiences an elastic hold on your muscle groups, supporting and shielding them from the bulk of oscillation. Garneau also designed the shorts with a seamless inner-leg and an eight-panel construction. This not only leads to an increase in flexibility, but, more obviously, it lends itself to eliminating abrasion. The secure fit of the shorts was accomplished through the use of these compressive fabric panels, Garneau's Powerband leg cuffs, and its smooth Huggfit waist up top. Garneau also added its 4motion women's-specific chamois into the shorts. This chamois uses a 3D, pre-shaped wing design that moves in unison with your body. The chamois uses variable-density, perforated memory foam that's been shaped objectively towards every direction of movement and pressure. And unlike other forms of variable-density padding, the shape ensures that height transitions flow smoothly from region to region. This means that pinching and chafing are nearly eliminated. The Louis Garneau Women's Sirocco Tank top is available in six si... read more

When does a jersey become a jacket, and when does a jacket become a jersey? If you're less concerned with the answer to such a que...stion, and more concerned with simply having a piece that works as both, pick up the Louis Garneau Women's Windpro Long-Sleeve Jersey. The Windpro perfectly walks that fine line between jersey and jacket. It offers a fit that's just generous enough to allow comfortable base layering underneath, but slim enough to stay quiet in the wind and also lend a flattering profile. Because the folks at LG know that there is nothing more miserable than being soaked in sweat after a grueling climb -- only to start shivering as soon as you begin descending -- the Windpro Jersey is made of smart stuff. A material called Light Wind Pro, a tightly-knitted fabric that offers four times the wind protection of regular fleece, comprises the front panels, while Thermasoft 180 makes up the rest, an incredibly breathable but warm material that allows for rapid evacuation of excessive moisture. Pre-shaped shoulders, a position-specific collar, and a wide lower rear hem dictate a fit for cycling-specific comfort. There are three rear pockets, and a media pocket with headphone port, for all your cargo needs, while reflective graphic elements in certain areas of the jersey boost your visibility at night. The Louis Garneau Women's Windpro Long-Sleeve Jersey comes in six sizes, from X-Small to XX-Large, and in the color Black/white.

The Louis Garneau Geminix Jacket 2 is available in sizes X-Small through XX-Large, and in the colors Black/white, Ginger, and White/black. read more

By the time you hop on the bike in a triathlon, you're already thinking of countless things: your biometrics, nutrition, the clock..., and the competition. Your rig and equipment shouldn't be on that list. One critical area of comfort, both on and after the bike, is the shoes you wear for the ride, and that's where the Louis Garneau Tri X-Lite Shoes come in. Working from the tarmac up with its stiff Ergo-Air carbon composite outsole, the X-Lites are incredibly breathable. Chalk that up to LG's relentless commitment to ventilation across its entire product line. It knows that the drier your feet, the less likely you are to blister and sabotage your run when the ride ends. Helping further reduce in-shoe heat and moisture is the shoes' mesh upper, and the wide hook-and-loop closure strap teams up with LG's proprietary Heel Retention System to keep the foot from shifting and creating uncomfortable friction while pedaling. LG thinks of the little details, too: A small puller cord inside the shoe allows the bike to be set up with the shoes in a horizontal position for faster mounting when coming out of the water. The Louis Garneau Tri X-Lite Shoes are compatible with any 3-bolt mounted cleat system and include the company's Coolmax Ergo Air insoles. A single size 42 shoe weighs in around 219 grams. You can order them in sizes 38 to 48 (including half sizes from 41-46) and in the color White.

The Louis Garneau Comp Shorts are available in five sizes, from Small to XX-Large, and in the colors White/black/red and Fluo Green. read more

Triathlons are an expensive pastime, but the Louis Garneau Tri-X Speed II Women's Shoes make it a little simpler to afford all the... other gear you need. They don't disregard function to lower the pricetag, though. The X-Speed II uses the same outside-to-inside Power Flex strap as the top-end models, so you can fine tune your fit and easily open and close your shoes while you're in the saddle. It also boasts the same HRS-80 heel counter as some of its big sisters, so your heel will sit solidly in the shoe without slipping, preventing blisters and loss of power. Garneau made sure the X-Speed II was also comfortable by including a ventilated EVA insole that works with the vented nylon outsole to move moisture and keep your feet cool. The outsole has been reinforced to increase stiffness and power. Throw in a large heel strap for smooth speed in the transition zone and a weight that totals well under 300 grams, and you'll be blowing the competition away while laughing at their more expensive gear. read more

If you like to spend all day on your bike, Louis Garneau has just the shorts for you. The Equipe Motion Women's Shorts have been d...esigned to give you all day comfort with high performance compression material that will ensure you'll feel like riding day after day. The magic happens with Louis Garneau's mixing of their Pro and Power + Lycra material. The Pro + Lycra adds the touch of comfort with a forgiving stretchiness which belies its ability to recover its shape. It will move with you instead of working against you. Meanwhile, the Power + Lycra has the stretch with compression. Compression fabrics are essential for isolating and supporting muscle groups which means you will feel less fatigue and be able to recover faster. The material has been cut to shape to the female form while in a riding position. Louis Garneau uses its HuggFit waist which evenly distributes pressure around the waist. With a similar attention to comfort, the inner leg has been designed to be seamless in order to reduce the bulkiness by eliminating excess material. You won't have fabric bunching up at the saddle interface, which reduces the possibility for sore-causing friction. And where there are seams, Louis Garneau uses flatlock stiching to avoid irritating friction and prevent indentations from forming on your legs. Another point of contention on ladies' shorts is how tight to make the leg band. There should be an element of compression, but not enough to cause unwanted bulges. Louis Garneau solves this problem with the Powerband, which is a compression cuff that supports the thigh without causing undo pressure. The 10. 5 inseam will mean that the leg cuff hits at that perfect point on the thigh below the thickest part of the leg but still high enough above the knee to keep the tan line at your casual short level. For the insert, Louis Garneau turns to their Airgel Chamois. This is an all-day comfort chamois due to the high-density foam working in sympathy with the perforated gel... read more
