All about me! (I envy when my kids get to do this in school, now I get to take part, minus the paint-dipped hand-print)

I am a working (outside and inside the home) mom of three, a 17-year-old son who is about to graduate high school and forge into the world, a 7-year-old daughter, who is my calm, spiritual, emotional (and dramatic) middle child, and a 5-year-old daughter who wants to take the world by storm, and quite being treated like a baby, fer-cryin-out-loud....

I was a teenaged mom, decided to get married when my son turned two. Not my best idea, by far. After our divorce I was a single mom, worked like mad to make ends meet, and went to class every chance I had to finally finish my undergraduate degree three years later (and ten years after high school!). I moved into the Information Technology field at that time, and haven't ever looked back. I enjoy figuring out technical issues, and solving problems. I'm sort of like a computerized social worker, I guess.

I met my current husband via my son, who was also ecstatic when he finally had a little sister come along. We moved to Texas when she was a mere 5 weeks old for economic and family reasons. This was a culture shock after growing up in Colorado, I didn't know they still used the word 'Yankee' in normal conversation. After my third child I went back to school, again, and got my MBA in 2007. My husband keeps asking (worriedly) when I'll go back for my PhD.
I love literature, photography, travel, slow walks on the beach (not chasing after young'uns to apply sunscreen), and most of all, visiting my family and friends. Last year I took my son to France and Spain for two weeks, now he's going to France for college in the fall! I am so going to visit!

I've always immersed myself in books and writing. I even had a journal at the tender age of five, I thought my life was so stressful. Now that my life is stressful, I don't have much time to write it all down. Perhaps I should stick with poetry?
Since fall of 2008 I've been honored to be a 'Guest Blogger' at MA! Motherhood With Attitude. I'm having a fantastic time with this, pouring out my parental frustrations (and some joys) and hearing what other moms are going through as well. We're all in this together!
